Civic participation is the natural next step for America. The natural course of our economy is to foster diverse ways for civil participation for the sustainability of our economy. Not only thru voting but also thru social and educational programs, volunteer opportunities, and community service. In a gridlock senate, often the argument is for or against progressive policies that move in the way of socialism. But it really isn’t about becoming more of a socialist economy as it is about performing the duties of government fairly and without biased.

The numerous accounts of unfair distribution of resources in community development, the lack of quality programs, and quality education in urban areas—the lack of timely policies, reoccurring issues that have remained unresolved, inefficient stimuli appropriations, allocations, and disagreements are all demonstrations of how government mismanagement is the primary cause for much of our economic troubles.

Fair resources mismanagement practices are a long awaited issue that’s gone without resolve—stemming back before 1930’ with Franklin D. Roosevelts’ “New Deal” –to the new millennium with George W. Bush’s Performance Management agenda of 2001—to the possibilities of a progressive “Green New Deal” under a Biden administration in 2021. But mismanagement is only a symptom of the problem that America’s culture faces.

The current culture of America naturally pushes us in the way of an aristocratic government (hereditary ruling class) where a few with the most money and greatest influence are the new representatives of ‘We the People’ in the absence of civic participation. This often happens when large corporations use their power to lobby or make back house deals with officials to remove market boundaries.

Civic participation is crippled by the demand of big businesses. The concept of corporate gain destroys civic responsibility when it remains unchecked by government because the work of citizens increase to fulfill corporate and stakeholder demands—workers have greater work stresses due to managers who are under pressure to turn profits, and overall the working class of today have more obligations causing them to spend more money and have less time and desire for leisure activities that contribute to community service.

Americas greed has pushed us farther away from the culture of a free-flowing democracy with ample time and opportunities for civic participation. Under a Biden administration it’s imperative we focus on reviving the participation and development of humanity for a better tomorrow. It’s a ‘people first’ or ‘people centric’ economy where all the responsibilities doesn’t fall on the wealthy but everyone who is able must hold themselves accountable for civic participation.

It’s not until individuals either mature or begin to care for others above themselves that civic participation increases. This is why the aspect of people development thru social programs and fair allocations of funding is primary—because the more people are developed in society the more likely they are to have an opinion, find their voice, and participate in social change and civic responsib

ility.

WANT TO RECEIVE LOCAL AND NATIONAL PETIONS TO IMPACT CHANGE IN YOUR COMMUNITY AND IN THIS COUNTRY… SIGN TO RECEIVE PETITIONS:

Civic participation will lead America in the way of progress. For each individual, it’s the sense of doing your part where you are able not freeloading off the system because you can. The American culture hangs in the balance along with democracy and how we fair depends on our government’s ability to heal itself from corruption and greed—to close the gaps of inequalities and inequities—not impose their political agenda for capital gain—but restoring us to a culture where civic participation drives progress not takes a back seat.

Of course, it’s not all on government—as the article itself is about civic responsibly. But as civilians we too can have an impact in changing the culture in our communities thru relationships with our city officials, engaging in local and national polls; and setting aside time to teach our children to give or volunteer without looking for a financial reward in return.

The greatest change always starts at home with self and your family, then to friends and community, and lastly to the nation. It’s imperative that citizens work alongside their government and the Biden administration to change the culture of America—moving us away from greed to service or we will lose the foundational system of our democracy. If the voice of the people continues to diminish in the face of greed, we will no longer be a government by the people but a government by the big business—with corporate greed, capital gain, and money laundering leading the way to the destruction of our democracy.
